Well done and huge thank you to the Whalsay JHS S4 group who won £3000 in September 2022 for Ability Shetland through the Youth Philanthropy Initiative!
They put a lot of work into researching our charity and its impact locally, then presented their findings to parents, pupils and a judging panel. They were up against other groups of S4 pupils who also did a great job presenting their findings on their chosen charities too.
As well as their research, the group came along to volunteer at our Parasports Festival in March and so asked that we use the money to go towards our Sports Project and in particular to get our wheelchair basketball off the ground - how great are they!
