Firewalk Fundraising Week

Our Lerwick Saturday Club (older group) were the first club to kick off our Fundraising Week! The members of the Saturday Club took part in a sponsored cycle at the Clickimin track. They raised a total of £290!

On the Monday, the Adult Recreational Club absolutely smashed their original target at their '1000 Goals Fundraiser.' They collectively scored 7444 goals and raised £381.85. Well done everyone!

Then the Mossbank Adult Group organised an amazing Saturday Teas in the Brae Hall. They also had a range of arts and crafts activities, and stalls. They helped us to raise £969.00!

Megan Keppie and Wilma Sim ran the 26.2 mile Inverness marathon to raise vital funds. Thank you both for doing this.

Finally, on Saturday the 8th of October twenty-three people braved the Firewalk. They not only smashed it, but managed to bring the final total to £13,308! This money will go directly towards supporting disabled people across the whole of Shetland.

A HUGE thanks to the brave souls who took part in the Firewalk, we are so grateful.

Thanks to Liam and Jamie for piping us along the road and to the Bigton Samba Band for playing as we walked over the coals. What a great atmosphere you all created.

Big thanks to Jewsons for the logs and turf, DFDS for transporting the gear, LHD for the tshirts, Brian Gray for taking photos, and Neil Watt and his team at Sport and Leisure for helping us find the best venue!

Thanks also to our helpers in the park, Iain, Davie, George and Dougie.

We are all feeling brally overwhelmed with the support of the community.
